WVa Art Center Expands Artworks Collection

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The Clay Center is expanding its permanent art collection.

The center said Wednesday an anonymous private collector in Charleston donated 23 paintings and drawings.

Most are by contemporary West Virginia artists.

The center also has purchased 2 Intaglio Prints by Jasper Johns with funds donated by the Clay Center Collectors Club.

With the additions, the Clay Center said its permanent collection now contains 840 works.
