Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The home of the West Virginia State Museum, Archives and Mountain Stage is going back to its original name.
Though people often refer to the building on the Capitol Complex as the "Cultural Center," its correct name is "Culture Center."
Aside from being grammatically correct, deputy commissioner Jacqueline Proctor says the name is set by state code.
Proctor says the timing is perfect, given recent program expansions and the opening of the new museum.
Reinstating the correct name will give branding strength to the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.
