If you're ready for the weekend and you're looking for something fun and sweet to do, you may want to check out the Sweet Corn Festival in Marietta.
The festival kicks off Friday night at the National Guard Armory at 4 p.m. with the Mayor's Jubilee and Farmer's Market.
Organizers say it's a good event to help folks learn about agriculture.
There are also many family activities planned, with everything from corn eating contests to tractor pulls.
"Entertainment all day on the main stage. And like I said, a lot of activities for the kids, contests, old fashioned sack races. It's just a good old fashioned good time," Chuck Swaney, promotions chair of Restore Marietta, said.
This is the second year for the sweet corn festival, and organizers hope it becomes an annual event.
