Manchin Named Vice Chair Of Governors Association

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- Gov. Joe Manchin has been named vice chair of the National Governors Association.

His selection was announced Monday during the organization's annual meeting in Biloxi, Miss.

As vice chair, he will chair the national group's center for best practices and finance committee.

Manchin is the first democratic Governor from West Virginia to serve in that position.

He replaces Vermont Gov. Jim douglas, who is now chairman.
