Students still have a couple of weeks before packing their backpacks and heading back to school, but some teachers are already back in the classroom.

Like many teachers, those at Marietta Middle School are working to get ready for the coming school year.

Unpacking books, stocking up on supplies and getting everything organized are just a few things needed to be done before the first bell rings.

"There's so many activities, so many things to do, but this year one of my goals is to be more organized," Crystal Barnett-Sheaves, a science teacher, said.

"If I'm organized and my classroom's organized, it looks good for the students, and then they will know that those are my expectations for them as well," Jeni Hendricks, a language-arts teacher, said.

I had the opportunity to meet Eunice Shriver and her husband Sargent at a World Special Olympics event several years ago. She and her family put their heart and sole into the program, and the Special Olympics will live on.
