July Jobless Rate Declines Most WVa Counties

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- Unemployment rates fell in most West Virginia counties in July.

Workforce West Virginia said Friday that only seven counties reported higher unemployment rates in July. They were Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mason, Mineral, Pleasants and Wayne.

McDowell County had the highest jobless rate, 14.6 percent, which was unchanged from June.

Monongalia County's 4.4 percent unemployment rate was the lowest in the state.
