Tipp City, Ohio (AP) -- A 15-year-old girl's mother alarmed by texts from two men helped lead to their arrests.

Police in the Dayton suburb of Tipp City say the men were looking to meet the teen girl for sex.

They say after the mother saw the text messages to her daughter, she contacted police.

Police say they contacted the men, who were arrested last week when they came separately to an address they thought was provided by the girl.

Thirty-five-year-old Marc Burns of Beavercreek, Ohio, and 41-year-old Alonzie Wright Jr. of Dayton have both pleaded not guilty to a count of importuning.

The police say they encourage parents to monitor their children's electronic communications.

It doesn't have anything to do with the phone, or even having a phone, or texting. What about the other guys she could have been meeting to have sex with? Maybe met in town, or got picked up at walmart, or the gas station? Some of these kids will have sex for a ride to town. And it's not adults preying on kids, there are lots of 16 & 17 year olds that do whatever they WANT. Heck, some parents teach the girls to 'use what they got to get what they want'. No one is being forced.

any more if u discipline ur kids cps gets involved and tries to take ur kids..u cant even spank them. now i;m not saying not to bow down to ur kids but make them understand who's boss..anymore if ur too strict on ur kids and they dont like it bc they dont get what they want the kids will tell a lie and get their parents in trouble i think thats why so many parents let their kids do what they want bc this court system is also messed up..but regardless i stay involved in my kids life's and events regardless how they act with me but most parents dont..

i agree with you tracey i was totally against my daughter getting a cell phone shes only 10 and all her friends have them .my phone company offered me a free phone so i did get it for her. like tracy said IAM IN CHARGE OF THIS PHONE. she is only allowed to take it with her when riding her bike or at a freinds house . this is simply so i can get a hold of her when i need to.plus she can still talk to all her friends in parkersburg.she DOES NOT ! take this phone to school and it is my "custody" after 9 pm .to be perfectly honest i culd take it for a week and she prob wouldnt even know. the point is if your kids do have access to the internet or cell phones PLEASE PLEASE moniter it there are to many wack jobs these days and im not jeprodizing my childs safety in any way.

Yet again-here is another example of why teens have no business having cell phones, and or anything that allows them to text/tweet with others-either through their phones or on chat rooms. What ever happened to parents being involved in their kids lives? Long ago when I was a teen the parents were in charge and we had to go by their rules. Now it is a different story. The only social life teens need is with their families.
