Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- Officials have released dashboard videos of a police pursuit in which an officer was killed by friendly fire while trying to stop a suspect who also was shot to death.

Mayor Danny Jones and Kanawha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford attended a news conference Friday where the videos were shown.

Rutherford's department investigated the incident.

The videos from several police cruisers show a long pursuit that started near the State Capitol and ended nearly 20 miles away near Quick.

The videos show the pickup truck driven by Brian Good of Miliken turning around and attempting to ram police cruisers.

Officials say Good and patrolman Jerry Jones were fatally shot.

The mayor has said the 27-year-old patrolman was struck by friendly fire.
