Newark, Ohio (AP) -- The Longaberger Basket Company says strong sales of its new National Football League and college team baskets are allowing it to call back 50 laid-off employees.
Longaberger, based in Newark in central Ohio, says the workers began returning this week.
The company announced nearly 300 layoffs early in the year.
In September, the Longaberger Co. introduced licensed basket sets featuring all 32 NFL teams and select universities, including Ohio State, Michigan State and Virginia Tech.
Additional schools will be added as they give approval.
