Sunny are youtalking about Bob Newell, not Board, Newell was not a supervisor and not much of a detective. Was he not Chief when they arrested the guy for murder and had to drop the charges. Then there was the famous Burger Chef case, what a dupe, using his position for political gain, worst Mayor ever. Newell is the King of smoke and mirrors

First off to those of you who think the Chief will be getting rich with 2 retirements you need to think again. In fact I don't know how a police officer would ever survive unless they get another job to retire from. And I bet you have never even met Chief Board. He is a very kind and caring man. As for him having 2 children on the force, I think any parent should feel proud that their child would want to follow in their footsteps or that their child would want a job that puts their own life at risk to keep others safe. I sure hope those of you making negative comments never need help. Good luck Chief and enjoy your retirement. (And no I'm not a relative)

sunny, Please don't try to insult our intelligence with your invalid remarks. You are embarrassing yourself by making these ludicrous and unfounded accusations. Obviously you are a scorned officer who didn't get what he wanted or is hoping to get something he wants. Are you one of those people who try to build themselves up by putting others down--obviously you are. Shame on you!!

Obviously all of the negative responders about the Parkersburg Police Dept need to do their homework and check out per capita that Parkersburg WV is probably one of the safest cities in the State!

Mr. Board should never have been appointed Police Chief in the first place. The fact that he and pothole Bob were business partners should have been enough reason. Add to that the fact two of his kids are Police Officers should have been the final blow.

chief board has served our community well...john~ how is it the cops fault that druggies are murdering each other, redneck teenagers are busting in people's apt.'s and landlords don't provide smoke detectors to their tennants?....obviously, you are one that likes to point fingers and complain w/out having any idea what you are saying....

Chief Board is a VERY good chief. The police do all they can to help keep the streets safe. Even in the safest, safe, safe towns there is still violence so PARKERSBURG POLICE work very hard and I thank all of them for that. Parkersburg is safe compared to some. GO PARKERSBURG POLICE OFFICERS!- GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

If we don't voice our concerns as citizens what good does it do to complain. You need to put it in writing. Let's make Parkersburg a better place, start sending letters to your mayors and commisioners. Let them know what we need. Let's make Parkersburg that small town everybody wants to live in. Remember if you have the attitude (ie: my kid wouldn't do that than, why bother.) Be honest with ourselves be honest with our community. Do what is right for Parkersburg! Good Luck and may Parkersburg be a better place, Chief Board, Good Luck to you too.
