Ohio Attorney Gen. Jim Petro has chosen Washington County as one of four for the state's sex offender notification pilot program.
New software will allow the Sheriff's Department to track sex offenders to a 1,200-foot radius, and you can register with the Sheriff's Department to receive an e-mail or postcard with the sex offender’s name, picture, residence, sexual offences and more.
Petro says he hopes the program will expand to the rest of Ohio's counties by mid-summer. To a sign up for the program you do it through our website.
