One Step Closer

Prosecutor Ginny Conley presented a revised ordinance to the commission Monday.

It sets a 2,000-foot prohibition for exotic entertainment business, in neighborhoods where homes, churches or family establishments are located.

But any violations would be civil rather than criminal.

"We're keeping it strictly in line with Senate Bill 104, which deals with exotic entertainment businesses," Conley says. "Now, if a sign or billboard were on the business itself, there may be applications for that. But, it would depend on where the signage is."

Since substantial changes were made in the resolution, the commission plans to hold a public hearing on the measure.

The commission's next meeting day is Thursday morning.
