Authorities in Ritchie County are looking for a two and a half year old girl who has been missing since 11:00 this morning, near Oil Ridge Road.

The child's name is Raven Owens.

Officials tell us she is wearing a pink dress and no shoes.

She has long blonde hair , gray/blue eyes, and weighs about 30-40 pounds.

Raven was last seen playing outside with a kitten.

They say Raven may be in danger, but does not meet the criteria for issuing an amber alert.

if you knew this area, you would not be so quick to assume she was abducted. This is not Parkersburg, it is a dirt road off of another dirt road. Kids still play out in the woods here. Unless you have never taken your eyes from your child for more than 2 seconds...Please do not judge what you do not know. Some areas are still considered safe and there was no reason at all to assume this child was abducted. Not exactly a high traffic area, not an any traffic area to be precise. If this were Parkersburg....or even in a town in Ritchie Co, perhaps more could be assumed. The police and fire depts as well as the Nat guard all responded quickly and volunteers from all over the county helped. Not many places can say they get this type of response.

How did they know if she had wandered off or IF someone did abduct her? They didnt and if someone did abduct her .. by the time the amber alert would have went out, she would have been long gone from this area and then what would they say?

I am glad that she is safe..as for where were the parents? well as a parent of a two year old myself, they move fast, there are times in my own home i will be in one room and she has gone to another and gotten hurt before i even know she has left the room.. i think that it should be looked into to make sure that there was no neglect, however, i also do not think it is right that people jump to conclusions, accidents happen..
