Columbus, Ohio (AP) -- Christian activists and others at a rally in Ohio say they worry about the fate of a teenage girl who ran away from home after converting from Islam to Christianity.

Rifqa Bary fled from the Columbus area to Florida saying she feared her father would hurt or kill her.

He has denied those claims, and authorities found no evidence the 17-year-old girl was ever threatened or in danger.

She was recently returned to Ohio and is now in foster care.

Scores of people gathered to show support for the teen Monday across from Franklin County juvenile court, which will decide where she ultimately lives.

Some held signs reading, "Free Rifqa."

Organizers said they fear for her safety.

A hearing on the girl scheduled for Monday was delayed until Dec. 22.
