If you're one to use cash more than checks or a debit card, you may want to keep a close eye on any money you receive in the Marietta area.
Marietta police say fake $50 bills are circulating through local businesses.
They say the bills appear to be real, and not even counterfeit money detector pens work on them.
Police say the only difference is that the counterfeit fifties are missing the security threads that go down the middle of the bills, and there is also no water mark.
If you have any cash you think could be counterfeit, contact the Marietta Police Department.
