Fairmont, W.Va. (Ap) -- Could a 10-year-old West Virginian be the next Barbara Walters? A producer with the CW network says it's a possibility.
Ten-year-old Leah Michael is only in the fourth grade, but she's already landed a gig as an occasional correspondent for the CW and for WDTV of Bridgeport.
She competed against thousands to snare one of only a few slots with the "Daily Buzz" morning show.
CW producer Mitch English says Michael is rare because she exudes personality for the camera, giving viewers the feeling she is special. Her comfort on air is rare among young people.
English also says Michael gives the rest of the country a taste of West Virginia.
He says her 90-second stories on Halloween and Thanksgiving traditions in her town have made him chuckle aloud.
