A food pantry that feeds the community is now looking for a little help from the community.

The food pantry shelves are a little bare at Open Door Baptist Church on Franklin Street in Marietta.

Pastor Keith Kapple says church members are continuously stocking it, but this year that doesn't seem to be enough.

"We have seen phenomenal results. There's just line after line after line of people needing assistance, especially this time of the year," Pastor Kapple said.

The pantry's main purpose is to help those in need on the west side.

It's open Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. That's also when folks can drop off any perishable and non-perishable food items.

You can also drop donations off at The Busy Bee and The Beauty Barn during business hours.

I can vouch for this food pantry. It is run by wonderful people who want to help those in need. Please donate any way you can to help. They recieve NO state funding or any other government assistance. Just donations by people of the MOV and members of the church.
