While picking up your kids from school Monday, you may have noticed some new additions to traffic lights in the Parkersburg area.
That's because the West Virginia Department of Highways is installing priority control sensors for emergency vehicles.
The sensors will be on more than 30 traffic lights in Parkersburg, and give the right of way to ambulances and other rescue traffic.
Many bigger cities already have the technology.
They hope the sensors will improve traffic flow without having to build additional lanes.
The project costs about $1.5 million.
