Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The director of West Virginia's consolidated public retirement board has resigned, citing health reasons.

Anne Lambright's resignation is effective April 30.

But she told the board Wednesday that she will continue working part time until a replacement is named.

Lambright said her physicians have advised her to substantially reduce her workload for an extended time.

In her letter of resignation, Lambright noted her surgery for breast cancer last year and therapy and radiation treatments.

Lambright has served as director since September 2006.

A search committee was appointed to find a new director.
