W.Va. Mom Pleads To Neglect In Son's Shooting

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- A Charleston woman whose son accidentally shot himself has pleaded guilty to a child neglect charge.

Hannah Danielle Workman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Kanawha County circuit court to child neglect causing seriously bodily injury.

Prosecutors dropped a second similar charge in exchange for the plea.

The 25-year-old Workman told circuit judge Duke Bloom that her son shot himself in the left leg with a gun he had found in her home.

The gun belonged to her boyfriend.

The shooting occurred in July.

Workman faces one to 10 years in prision when she's sentenced April 15.
