A St. Mary's barber could face up to five years in jail for a sex crime. The investigation into the assault was spearheaded by a convicted sex offender.
Part of Bill Brizendine’s plea agreement reached in April was that he had to tell authorities about other criminal acts involving others. That led police to Harry Gordon Thorn.
The 50-year-old friendly man is charged with sexual assault for having sexual relations with a 14 to 15-year-old female at the bank barbershop where he worked.
The incident allegedly happened during 1999 through 2000. Pleasants County prosecutor Tim Sweeney says former coach and social studies teacher John Armstrong also had relations with the same victim who is now 18.
He also lost his job and served five days jail time.
