Consolidated announced Monday it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and shut down its terminals nationwide.
One of those terminals is on Washington Boulevard in Belpre.
Mayor Bill McAfee says the impact in terms of employment should be minimal.
"Most of the employees do not live in Belpre," says Mayor McAfee. "Some come from other locations that were shut down previously. Other will go to locations that are still in operation. Financially, it's going to cost us some money, but I don't think we're going to be hurt that much."
There were 17 people employed at the Belpre terminal.
Mayor McAfee believes a new development will eventually spring up at the truck terminal site.
