When students at Little Hocking Elementary School take part in Friday's Washington County Relay for Life, they'll be supporting a fellow student.
They've helped Matthew Hill, who has bone cancer, organize a team for the annual relay, which will be held at Belpre's Civitan Park.
The sale of t-shirts for the relay has raised about $1,000.
"He really didn't know how mass scale this was until he saw all the t-shirts," says student Drew Banziger, "and we had the plan for him coming. We had everyone get a t-shirt, and show how much we appreciate and how much we care about what has happened to him."
Matt addressed the students at a "Relay Recess" Thursday, showing his appreciation for their efforts.
In addition to the sale of the t-shirts, the students have also been raising money for Friday's relay.
