Cub Scouts sacrificed their Saturday morning to race their wooden cars at the 42nd annual Davis Anderson Allohak Council Pinewood Derby.
Scouts from across the valley gathered at the Grand Central Mall for the friendly competition.
They have a chance to win a trophy, and learn about building the cars that start off as a pine block.
"I think that this is a great opportunity for our scouts to get out and to be in the public and show off what they done, I think it's also a great opportunity for the public to see the scouts in action and be aware of what's going on in their community," says Allohak Council Scout Executive, Dale Musgrave.
The purpose of the having the Pinewood Derby is to teach Cub Scouts good sportsmanship, experience the sense of accomplishment and build a team relationship with their parents.
