A Unique Way Of Giving Back To Horse Lovers

Updated: Sat 8:32 PM, Feb 09, 2013

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Horseman's Council held their annual public auction fundraiser Saturday.

A large turnout of people were on hand bidding on several new and used items.

The horseman's council is raising money for their chapter and to enhance the industry.

Council members say this is a unique way for the community to lend a hand for those who enjoy being around horses.

"We've noticed that people enjoy auctions and people have a good time coming to auctions because you never know what you may find at an auction," says Bill Hoover.

The items being auctioned were donated by area businesses.

Horseman's council members say they're working with state parks and the department of forestry to make additional places for horses.
