On this day of love, Shirley Digman of Parkersburg thinks back.

"It's a very special day, got a lotta good memories," Digman says. "My husband's deceased but there's very good memories of Valentine's Day."

The smell, the colors, the sentiment.

"It is an exhilarating time; I get excited every time I open a box of flowers. I know they're the same thing... they're roses, they're roses, they're roses or whatever, but I'm excited," says Bob Brownfield, owner and manager of Obermeyer's Florist in Parkersburg.

The weather may still be unpredictable but the roses are blooming.

"It's been wonderful," says Tammy Kuhn of Parkersburg. "Valentine's Day is a day of love, a day of giving, a day of sharing. It's always nice to get or give flowers... flowers are a universal sign of love."

It was a nice day for Tammy and an unexpected one filled with flowers.

"It was, it was a surprise," she says.

Plentiful, beautiful and making so many people happy.

"God's done a wonderful project in providing us with product to enhance the way they're displayed and delivered and it's a good holiday," Brownfield says.
