A local fast food chain is helping to fund a cure for a rare disease and it starts with backing one of their very own.
Anna Gordon works at the Blizzard Drive Subway.
The high school student suffers from Friedreich's Ataxia, a disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system, resulting in symptoms ranging from loss of balance to speech problems.
Anna's Army is supporting her ride for a cure in Philadelphia.
Eating a sub helps her reach her goal.
Due to her condition, Anna will pedal a specialized wheelchair.
"I'm very appreciative. We are packed today and my co-workers are really nice to come in and helping me with everything," says Gordon.
Gordon is currently a student at Parkersburg South where she used to cheerlead and play the saxophone in the marching band.
Anna's Army is still going on now at the Blizzard Drive subway until 10 Saturday night.
