The Blennerhassett Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated Arbor Day with a tree planting ceremony at Henderson Hall.
Dina Braniff, regent of the NSDAR says Arbor Day is important to replenish trees on our good earth.
It's also a great opportunity to give back to the community and help the environment.
"Well, we're out here on this beautiful spring day planting a tree for Arbor Day, a walnut tree, because last year Henderson Hall lost many trees when we had the derecho."
Braniff says the tree is in memory and honor of Rosealee Henderson, who was a member of the DAR.
