The Arc of the Mid-Ohio Valley starts and finishes their Secret Christmas Operation all in one night, thanks to almost 100 volunteers.
Each year the Arc gives gifts to teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that aren't served by any other agency.
Most of these gifts are actual personal neccesities that they need to survive the whole year.
Shoppers began at 4:30 picking out $40 worth of gifts from their wish list.
From there the gifts were shuttled to the Arc's office on Market Street to be wrapped
"They also get a dozen home baked cookies, they also get a toiletry pack or a house keeping kit if they do live on their own," says Christina Smith, Arc Executive Director. "So for christmas for you and I, may be things we just want every year. A lot of the items on these lists for the people we serve may be necessities. It may be items that need to live independently or to just live comfortably in their homes."
The volunteers worked well into the night until all the gifts were wrapped for the 230 individuals.
