It was a night of recognition for some familiar faces from across the valley as WASCO and People First of Washington County held it's awards banquet at the Gilman United Methodist Church Thursday.

WTAP's Brittany Lowe was in attendance receiving the Media Advocacy Award for her involvement with the organizations.

Several others from WASCO and People First also received a plaque for their good deeds in the community, with their employer and fundraising.

"It's very rewarding to receive this reward. First of all, when I became the office in 1992, we started doing handicap accessible ramps around the city, curb ramps and everything," says Marietta Mayor, Joe Matthews.

Marietta Mayor, Joe Matthews also received the Public Policy Award.
