A network spokesman confirmed the decision Wednesday.

This, after the accidental death of one of the show's stars. "Buckwild" showed the lives of several young adults who lived in the Sissonville, West Virginia area.

MTV had renewed the show for a second season, and taping had begun when Shain Gandee, 21, was found dead of an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

After his death, production was suspended indefinitely and now that has led to them canceling the program.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities in West Virginia say a star of the MTV reality show "BUCKWILD" and two passengers all died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Twenty-one-year-old Shain Gandee, his uncle and another passenger were found dead Monday. Gandee's 1984 Ford Bronco was stuck in a mud hole, its tail pipe submerged. It's possible the gas could have filled the cabin because of the clogged exhaust pipe.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says autopsies completed Tuesday confirmed the three men died from the gas.

Their deaths have been ruled accidental.

The victims' bodies have been released to funeral homes, but no arrangements have yet been announced.

Shooting for the second season of the show set around Sissonville and Charleston has been suspended.

UPDATED: 04/02/2013

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - An off-road riding event is planned to honor a MTV reality show star who died this week.

The bodies of Shain Gandee and two others were found Monday in a mud pit in his family's sport utility vehicle near the "BUCKWILD" cast member's Sissonville home.

Gandee's cousin, Ashley Gandee Lewis, says the event is set for Wednesday afternoon in Proctorville, Ohio. She says participants will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Proctorville Kroger. The cost is $10 for riders and $5 for spectators.

Gandee says she also is accepting donations at a general store she recently opened in Crown City, Ohio.

Proceeds will go to pay for funeral costs. Lewis says the fundraisers were arranged because no parent should have to pay for the costs to bury their own child.

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Shooting for the second season of the MTV reality show "BUCKWILD" has been suspended after a popular cast member was found dead along with two others inside a sport utility vehicle in West Virginia.

Authorities say Shain Gandee was found dead Monday in the vehicle, which was found partially submerged in a deep mud pit about a mile from his home near Sissonville. Also inside were the bodies of his uncle and another man.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Cpl. B.D. Humphreys says the Ford Bronco's muffler was below the surface and that mud covered the passenger side. No foul play is suspected.

Authorities say the cause of the deaths was still under investigation.

Gandee was a breakout star of the show that followed the antics of a group of young friends.
