Farson Street is turning into a three-lane and with growth comes a little pain.

Belpre Mayor Mike Lorentz says they are moving sewer lines and water lines for the simple reason that if they don't, the next water leak is going to be right underneath their new road.

At 5 p.m. on September 10 they'll shut off the water.

“That'll affect the hospital area -- Hanvey, Norris, Farson, Rockland Avenue and then Valley View up on the hill on Farson,” the mayor says. “It'll be off for three hours, and then we'll be under a boil advisory for the next 48 hours.”

The mayor says when you're spending a million dollars of grant money to make things better, you want to make sure all bases are covered.

He adds that this will not only benefit the hospital but will reinforce that area with water, access and service to the homes.
