Following the yellow brick road usually leads to Oz but Saturday it went to West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
The university hosted a Wizard of Oz luncheon fundraiser to raise money for the new child development center. The center offers childcare for WVU-P students and faculty. The college is constructing a new child care building on the campus because demand is for the service is so high. Foundation members say the positive response from students and faculty make construction costs worth while.
"It's been very positive. We've had very good response, says Geni Astorg. "It's just been incredible."
Community members agree the childcare service is incredible. The luncheon sold out.
