The holidays are fast approaching and local food pantries are working hard to make sure families have food for those holidays.

The Belpre Area Ministries open their food pantry Monday, Wednesday and Friday at their offices on Washington Boulevard.

In this time of giving, the organization says community effort seems to be up this year.

And the ministries remind us that helping each other is a year-round commitment.

"We are blessed and grateful that we've received several donations. We've had some local business that have done food drives," says Ministries President Lisa Stone. "As you can probably see, the food pantry is very full. And that is a very good thing."

The United Way and local churches help stock the food pantry.

Belpre Area Ministries will once again be taking part this year in the PM Company's "Night of Giving" that's happening next month.
