PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Catholic Charities West Virginia is taking its mobile food pantry to Ritchie County.
WellnessWorks will offer canned, boxed and fresh food in the Smithville area.
Families can pre-register on June 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the community building.
The food will be handed out from 9 a.m. to noon on June 5.
People who are at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible. So are households that receive Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program or SNAP benefits from the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
Clients must bring ID and proof of monthly income.
Catholic Charities is also looking for community partners to offer other health and wellness activities.
Organizations can sponsor blood pressure screenings, cooking demonstrations or other health-related projects for its food-distribution days.
