The warm weather this week means a lot of us are in the middle of spring cleaning. And that includes the Wood County Solid Waste Authority.

Old tires are just some of the things people brought for disposal, at the annual two-day Wood County Cleanup, happening next to the Erickson All-Sports Facility.

You can also bring in old electronics items and appliances, but there's one thing you can't bring in this year.

"Things like household garbage that the haulers need to be taking care of anyway," says Christopher Cartwright, Project Manager for the West Virginia Regional Rehabilitation and Environmental Action Plan (REAP), "or people should be taking advantage of the free day at the landfill they hold once a month, rather than waiting to bring it here."

The pickup continues Saturday from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
