Two Child Pornography Cases Over the Weekend

Friday detectives arrested Jeffery Kesterson after his recent indictment by a Wood County Grand Jury.

A Computer Crimes Investigator conducted a 3 month investigation on him.

He's charged with 18 counts of having of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and one count of distribution.

Kesterson failed to post a $15,000 bond.

He's held in the North Central Regional Jail.

Friday afternoon an investigator monitoring Internet traffic alerted Parkersburg police someone was downloading child pornography at the Parkersburg Public Library.

Detectives detained a man for questioning.

Following an interview police searched his north Parkersburg home.

Authorities are processing evidence which may lead to charges. The man is currently in custody on unrelated charges.

"We now have the capability to monitor certain networks. We have the capability and do conduct online undercover chat investigations trying to catch child predators preying on our children through chat rooms. The priority that we must place on protecting our children is at the highest," says Parkersburg Police Sergeant Greg Collins.

At any given time 40 to 50 people are downloading child porn in Parkersburg.
