Two weeks ago we told you about a Coolville man who fell out of a car.
We now know that 22-year-old has died.
Jeffrey Root died Monday at Ohio State University Hospital.
He was taken there by helicopter after he was found lying in the middle of Route 50 about two miles east of Athens on November 4.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol believes Root was in the passenger seat of the moving car when he opened the door and dangled his feet over the road.
They say he then fell out of the car when a piece of the door broke he was using to stabilize himself.
Funeral services will be held Friday in Coolville.
A Coolville man severely injured and found lying on Route 50 by passing drivers remains in a Columbus hospital.
The highway patrol says he was found at about 1:30 Saturday morning.
22-year-old Jeffrey Root was lying in the eastbound lanes of Route 50, about two miles east of Athens.
Root was airlifted to a hospital in Columbus in critical condition.
