A Wood County man is free on bond after a search of an Elm Tree Drive residence, the second of its kind in six months. But he could be facing more charges.
Under suspicion is Alan Keith Philpot, who was arrested Thursday on misdemeanor warrants charging him with driving on a revoked license.
But more charges may be forthcoming, based on what agents found at the residence.
A search warrant was executed just before noon Thursday by Wood County sheriff's deputies along with Parkersburg police, West Virginia state police and the drug task force.
It followed a raid last november at the same location, during which an estimated 30 guns were confiscated.
"Two stolen vehicles were recovered...and more weapons, two shotguns, a rifle, a handgun...as well as suspected bath salts, an amount of marijuana, and also some pills," said Sgt. Shawn Graham of the sheriff's office. "There's been an ongoing investigation into bath salt and drug distribution in our community, and that was the purpose of today's search warrant."
Philpot, who is out on bond, has pending drug and firearm charges from an arrest after last November's search.
Graham says a dog at the residence which aggresively charged at the officers was shot and killed.
Two other men who arrived at the residence while the search was still going on were arrested and jailed on unrelated charges.
