A fire breaks out in a Parkersburg home, causing significant damage.
The Parkersburg Fire Department responded around 12 Friday morning to a home on 9th Avenue, off Pike Street.
Firefighters say flames and smoke were showing on the front of the house when they arrived.
There was one woman inside the house, who was awoken by her smoke detector.
Firefighters say she escaped without injuries.
They say the fire caused significant damage to the home.
The cause is under investigation.
