We are starting to see some colder nights and chilly mornings.

That means some people are starting to turn the furnace on for the first time.

Marietta Fire Chief C.W. Durham says this is their busiest season, so prevention is key.

Make sure when you turn on your furnace or stand-up heater to get it checked by professionals.

Grogg's Heating and Air Conditioning received over 80 calls Monday morning and owner Tim Hanlon says this is just the beginning.

Carbon monoxide is also a danger and "silent killer".

Both the fire chief and Grogg's expressed great concern on having a dector in your home.
