Restore Marietta and Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau are teaming up to help make Marietta more attractive to locals and travelers.
At the council meeting today the Convention & Visitor's Bureau announced it's plans for a new smart phone app.
This app would be for the town of Marietta, letting people know about places to go, things to do, as well as sending them push notifications about specials going on around town.
Restore Marietta is also helping with the creation of the smart phone app.
They gave their own presentation today also, about their new big announcement coming later this month.
"Well on July 27th, we are going to make our announcement about Main St. We've been working very hard, Restore Marietta has been working very hard, for the last eight years to get a designation like this," said Director Jean G. Farmer
Restore Marietta and the Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau will also be revealing a new community logo.
It's all happening July 27th, during the Harmar Days Street Festival.
