have a craving for soup?

The First Congregational Church in Marietta held the Empty Bowls 2013 luncheon Saturday morning.

Many tastes more than 16 different soups from local restaurants and individuals.

People also got to see various hand made bowls donated by the students from Frontier High School and WVUP.

A silent auction was held with a selection from each potter.

The church's mission was to help feed the hunger throughout the valley.

"Well for the churches, it's to support the potters, it's a really good idea. For the teachers, it's giving them a way to teach the students that you can make things and give to empty bowls," says Caroline Putnam.

All of the proceeds will go to the Marietta Area Food Pantry to help them continue feeding the community.
