Keeping Downtown Parkersburg Looking Beautiful

Members of the Parkersburg Tree Commission made sure downtown was looking beautiful Saturday morning.

It was all part of their Cleanup-Greenup project.

Members spent the morning cleaning out and planting new flowers in several planters.

The project's focus was cleaning and greening up portions of Fourth and Market Streets.

But the commission intends to organize it city wide.

"Well, think about all the new things that are going on Downtown Parkersburg. We have our lovely Point Park which is new drawing many visitors, we have the Blennerhassett Hotel which also draws many visitors and so this is the ideal place to make everything look prettier," says Betty Camp of the Parkersburg Tree Commission.

Scots Landscape Nursery in Vienna and the Law Office of Robert K. Tebay III in Parkersburg are among the local sponsors that made the Cleanup-Greenup an instant success.
