Key Issues Facing West Virginia in 2013

As we welcome 2013, it's never too early for state organizations to talk about concerns West Virginia and the valley are facing.

And the West Virginia Farm Bureau along with the Division of Forestry did just that Thursday.

The farm bureau hosts its annual legislative dinner at the 4-H Campgrounds in Mineral Wells.

State senators and other officials were on hand talking about issues concerning the state.

Taxes, economy and education audit are among them.

"Concerns we have are the tax issues, and that could be anything from property taxes to business taxes as well as other issues resulting in other regulation," says West Virginia Division of Forestry Executive Director, Dick Waybright.

State Senator Mitch Carmichael said the state needs to create more jobs and opportunity.
