Kitten Season in the Mid-Ohio Valley

It's "Kitten Season" in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
As cute as these little pets are, it's becoming a problem for local Humane Societies.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Humane Society says they're running out of room.

They can't take in any more unwanted cats.

What's worse, they say, is that they may have to euthanize older cats if more felines aren't adopted.

Workers say it's an animal lover's nightmare.

"Ask us kennel techs. here, it's the worst thing in the world...These are cats we work with every single day. They're like our own pets at home.
And to have to euthanize them is not what we want to do. So it's more or less about getting the word out to the public, just please spay and neuter your cats, we will help you..", said Devon Blair, a kennel technician and the MOV Humane Society.

Blair said there are a few ways that people can help make a difference.

If you have a pet, be sure to spay or neuter it.

This not only keeps the cat population down, it can help prevent certain cancers and infections.

For those who are considering a new pet, she urges that they adopt rather than buy.
