Investigators say he repeatedly broke into an elderly woman's home to support his heroin addiction.
26-year-old Michael Doak is charged with burglary.
Deputies arrested him Thursday and they say he confessed.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says since late March a 93-year-old woman living in the Bramblewood Heights neighborhood complained of someone breaking into her home.
Doak entered her home four times while she was sleeping, according to deputies.
He's accused of taking purses, cash and a tv, all to support his heroin addiction.
The Marietta Fire Department dive team was able to recover her purse, filled with rocks from the Muskingum River Thursday afternoon.
More charges may come as the investigation continues.
