An unidentified man was hospitalized Saturday night after police and witnesses say he crashed a personal watercraft into a barge on the Ohio River.
It happened shortly before 10 p.m. Witnesses say the man was going full speed and by the time he saw the barge, it was too late.
They describe that terrifying moment.
"It was pretty scary, especially when you know he's going to hit it and you're hoping he stops and he don't. It's pretty scary. The noise was just loud," said Cody Potts.
"I thought it was going to explode but it didn't so I think when he finally saw it and pulled up, I think that's what saved his life," said Kenny Gregg.
Fortunately, the mans injuries are apparently non-life threatening. We were initially told by emergency officials that there were no injuries.
Parkersburg Police, Parkersburg Fire and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Responded. The investigation continues.
