Man Jumps off Belpre Bridge; Rescued by First Responders

UPDATE: 10/6/2012 8:10 PM

The call came in around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

Parkersburg Police and the Parkersburg Fire Department Rescue Boat responded to a man in the river underneath the Belpre Bridge.

Rescuers were able to pull the man into the boat and get him to shore.

Parkersburg Police Sergeant Greg Collins says the man is alive.

We're choosing not to release his name at this time out of consideration to the family.

He was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Parkersburg Police Sergeant Greg Collins says the man was alive.

He was taken to an area hospital and his condition isn't available at this hour.

How the man wound up in the water isn't clear.
