A Gallia County Deputy shot a man in the arm early Monday morning.

According to the Gallia County Sheriff's Office, just before 1 A.M., a deputy tried to stop a suspicious car on Scenic Drive in Springfield Township.

The car took off and turned on to Mt. Olive Road, with the deputy in pursuit.

The car landed in a ditch on Mt. Olive Road and the deputy pinned the car there.

An altercation took place at the driver's side door and the deputy fired one round, hitting the suspect in the arm.

He is identified as Ranon Brock, 36. He listed his address as Dayton, Ohio, but the sheriff's office believes he has recently lived in the local area.

Brock was treated and released from Holzer Hospital.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Further charges are pending.
